Alliance for Community Trees

ACTrees supports the needs of communities, non-profits, businesses and others engaged in urban forestry. Local ACTrees member organizations and their partners have planted 15 million trees nationwide with help from over 5 million volunteers.



Friends of the Urban Forest

Friends of the Urban Forest (FUF) is a San Francisco-based organization dedicated to maintenance and extension of the urban forest. Friends of the Urban Forest helps individuals and neighborhood groups plant and care for street trees and sidewalk gardens in San Francisco. This "green infrastructure" improves the city by beautifying neighborhoods, cleaning the air, raising property values and reducing polluted stormwater runoff. Since 1981, FUF has planted more than 47,000 trees, totaling 43% of San Francisco's street tree canopy.



Texas Historic Trees Coalition

The Texas Historic Trees Coalition is a local citizens group advocating for the recognition, preservation and celebration of historic and irreplaceable trees. The THTC website includes tree photos and descriptions, interesting facts and news clips.



Trees Forever

Trees Forever is an Iowa-based non-profit organization dedicated to helping individuals and communities connect to the natural environment through the planting and care of trees, native plants, prairies and other natural areas. Trees Forever has engaged communities across Iowa and Illinois in over 4,000 planting projects involving 160,000 volunteers who have planted over 2.8 million trees. Trees New York (TreesNY) is an environmental and urban forestry non-profit organization that was founded in 1976 as a volunteer response to New York City's devastating cutbacks in forestry and tree-related community services. Since then, TreesNY has become dedicated to planting, preserving and protecting New York City's urban forest through education, active citizen participation and advocacy.




MillionTreesNYC, one of the 127 PlaNYC initiatives, is a city-wide, public-private program with an ambitious goal: to plant and care for one million new trees across the City's five boroughs over the next decade. 



New Jersey Tree Foundation

The New Jersey Tree Foundation (NJTF) is a state-wide non-profit organization dedicated to reforesting cities where the need is greatest.  Through tree planting, volunteerism and partnerships, the NJTF assists numerous communities in improving their environment and quality of life.
