To improve our service we are making some of our resources available in other languages. Is English your first language?:
yes
no
If not, what is your first language?:
Please check each box to indicate you understand the following:
1. LEAF is a not-for-profit organization. This is a funded program that you will be participating in so it works slightly differently than a private business or nursery might.
2. The price that you pay ranges from about $100 to $190 per tree. This includes a site consultation in your yard with a certified arborist, the tree itself, delivery and planting. The full value of the service is about $300 to $400 and the difference is paid by our funding partners.
3. Trees are planted in backyards only within the City of Toronto, Markham, Vaughan and Richmond Hill.
4. Trees when planted are still quite young – 5 to 9 feet in height and approx. one inch in diameter. Evergreen trees are 2 to 3 feet in height.
5. If you decide not to get at tree at the visit, there is a $50 charge for the consultation ($56.50 with HST). If you decide to order only shrubs, this site consultation fee also applies.
6. Planting will happen around April/May for Spring and September-November for Fall.
7. We do not book appointments or take scheduling requests for planting. You will be notified a day or two in advance of the date of planting, but we cannot give you a time of day. You don’t have to be home, but we will need full access to your yard at our convenience.
8. We do not offer a “no questions asked” guarantee like a nursery might since we do not build this into the price you pay. If no leaves appear on your tree in the first season after it is planted we will replace it.
9. We will contact you to participate in program evaluation surveys and may contact you to visit your tree for a follow-up evaluation.
10. Consultations are valid for a tree planted in the current planting season. Deferring your order to a later planting season is at the discretion of LEAF.
Please check each box to indicate that you understand trees will be planted a minimum of:
a. 3 feet from property lines or fences
b. 8 feet from hard surfaces (paving, interlocking, decks)
c. 10 feet from buildings with foundations
d. 20 feet from existing trees (or more depending on species)
e. 7 to 10 feet from stumps
f. medium trees require at least 15 x 15 feet of soft ground surface (free of paving, stone, interlocking, etc.) - large trees may require more
g. If you do not meet these space requirements, LEAF offers a variety of hardy shrubs and small trees available for delivery or planting
