The race is on! Starting October 5, participating schools in the York Catholic District School Board are competing to get trees and shrubs planted in their communities. In the spring, LEAF launched its Youth EAB Ambassador Program in eleven elementary schools; this fall, the program continues with new schools taking part in the contest.

Last Saturday, we turned over a new LEAF with our first-ever tree tour in Mississauga! The City of Mississauga invited us to join their Earth Day celebration event, part of their One Million Trees Mississauga campaign.
Over 20 people turned up on a snowy Wednesday at lunchtime to learn about Heritage Trees from Edith George, a lover of trees and their stories. Though the heat was not working in the room, Edith’s words soon warmed up the LEAF staff, volunteers, and Tree Tenders graduates gathered there.
