Paid registrants who cancel at least three weeks (21 days) prior to the event date will receive a 75% refund. Registrants who cancel with less than three weeks’ notice will not receive any refund.
Our popular, multi-day Tree Tenders Volunteer Training course is back again this year!
Develop an understanding of how trees function and what they need to survive and thrive. Learn to identify the trees in your community. Gain insight into best practices for selecting, planting and caring for trees in your yard or neighbourhood.
Our expert instructors will deliver engaging in-person sessions that will give you practical skills you can apply immediately!
Schedule of classes:
- Tuesday, April 30 – 6:00 p.m. – 9:00 p.m.
- Thursday, May 2 – 6:00 p.m. – 9:00 p.m.
- Saturday, May 4 – 11:30 a.m. – 3:30 p.m.
- Tuesday, May 7 – 6:00 p.m. – 9:00 p.m.
- Thursday, May 9 – 6:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m.
If dangerous weather is predicted for Saturday, May 4, our outdoor session will be postponed to Sunday, May 5 at the same time.
Eligible participants who attend all five required classes have the option to receive 13.00 ISA Continuing Education Units (CEU's).
Registration is open to all, but please note that the content on municipal bylaws and policies is Toronto-based.
The Hub at Downsview Park is located on the main floor of the building, with a ramp at the entrance. Accessible washrooms are on the main floor, however the doors do not have automatic operators.
Outdoor components will involve walking in the park on relatively smooth but unpaved ground and on sidewalks throughout the neighbourhood. If there are any additional requirements you may have to participate fully in the program, please contact natasha[at]yourleaf.org.
