Looking for a tree-rific reason to get outside this fall? Help LEAF green up Willow Wharf! Join us for some family-friendly fun planting native trees and shrubs at Willow Wharf. Make a day of it and visit Georgina's beaches and waterfront parks!
For this event, we’ve teamed up with the Town of Georgina as part of their EAB (Emerald Ash Borer) removal and replacement strategy to restore and strengthen Georgina’s tree canopy while increasing local biodiversity.
Children under 16 years of age must be accompanied by an adult.
Planting event will take place from 1 p.m. – 3 p.m.
Please wear:
- Closed-toed shoes or boots – no sandals, please!
- Gardening gloves, if you have them (we will have extras)
- Appropriate clothing – the event runs rain or shine
This event will involve walking on unpaved paths and uneven grassy surfaces. For accessibility questions, please contact Sarah Halonen, sarah[at]yourleaf.org.
This event is supported by the Town of Georgina and by York Region through the Disaster Mitigation and Adaptation Fund.
