Calling all Toronto youth (ages 18-29)!
Are you passionate about the environment, want to build leadership skills and make a positive impact in your city? Then you’ll want to check out the Young Urban Forest Leaders (YUFL) Program.
This unique, free four-month program offers online and in-person experiences to build skills in arboriculture, urban forestry and community engagement. Guided by the principles of Two-Eyed Seeing, integrating both Indigenous and Western knowledge systems, the YUFL program invites youth to engage in land-based learning activities rooted in land stewardship and community connection.
This program is open to all Toronto youth, at no cost to participants, with priority given to applicants from equity-deserving groups, including (but not limited to) newcomers, gender-marginalized, racialized and 2SLGBTQ+ individuals.
This information session will explain what to expect as a participant, how to apply and answer your questions.
The event will be delivered online and can be accessed through a web browser or an electronic device with the Zoom app. Internet access is required. For accessibility questions, please contact Natasha Jovanovic, Natasha[at]yourleaf.org.
All registrants will be provided a Zoom Meeting link to access the information session, and a recording will be shared after the session.
Funded in part by the City of Toronto's Urban Forestry Grants and Incentives Program and the Ontario Trillium Foundation’s Seed Grant.
