Urban forestry by nature is multi-disciplinary, encompassing diverse fields such as biology, urban planning, policy, and management. As such, it is difficult to track to what extent, and where, urban forestry is being practiced in Canada. A new project, led by Dr. Danijela Puric-Mladenovic of the University of Toronto, is creating an interactive map of urban forestry activities in Canada, with the aim of using that information to assess the state of urban forestry and stewardship at a national level.
