Are you looking to make your Multi-Unit or Business property more beautiful, environmentally friendly and energy efficient? We help property owners in the City of Toronto, York Region, and most of Durham Region plant native trees and shrubs at subsidized rates. We understand that planting on Multi-Unit or Business properties can seem daunting at first. From tree selection to spacing requirements, we’ve heard your questions and we have the answers!

Why plant trees on my Multi-Unit or Business property?

There are tangible benefits to planting trees on your property, both as the owner and for your community.

As a property owner, you don’t want to spend money on things that have little to no return on investment. The good news is that planting new trees on your property is an inexpensive action that can have a big payoff over time. Studies show that properly planted trees around buildings can increase property values by up to 20%, and reduce energy needs for heating and cooling by 20-50%.

Also consider the environmental benefits of planting trees on your property, especially in urban areas. Trees improve air quality by absorbing carbon dioxide and trapping pollution particles while also providing us with oxygen. Trees intercept rainfall and reduce storm water runoff, preventing both soil erosion and urban flooding.

Finally, trees contribute to the physical and mental health of communities. Studies have shown that greener communities are linked to enhanced physical and mental wellbeing, with people experiencing reduced stress levels, lower blood pressure and improved mood and immune systems.

As the old saying goes, "The best time to plant a tree was 20 years ago. The second best time is now."
