The fall season is a great time to walk through our urban forest to see all the beautiful changing colours, and it is also a great time to add to our urban forest by planting new trees! Throughout September, October and November, our residential planting team worked hard to plant and deliver trees and shrubs to property owners across Toronto, Oakville, Ajax, and York Region!

This fall season showered us (…pun intended!) with a mix of weather. We planted in the sun and heat. We planted in the rain and cold.  And, we enjoyed every minute of it!

We carefully mulched and watered each tree and shrub to ensure they got a healthy start in their new homes. We also left a Planting and Care Guide for each of our clients, which provides easy-to-follow instructions on how to care for their new tree and/or shrub. These instructions include tips on mulching in a doughnut shape around the trunk and watering twice per week using approximately six gallons each time (even in the fall)!

By the end of each planting, each of our trees and shrubs was happy to be in the ground, waiting to start their new lives. And, of course, we were happy, too!

All in all, it was a very successful fall season! Now, it’s time to gear up for the spring 2019 planting season! In the spring, we will be offering the same services we offer in the fall, and we also have additional seasonal offerings such as pawpaws and native garden kits!
