On Saturday, the folks on St John's Rd are having a street party! We’ll be there to tell them all about LEAF and encourage them to plant and care for trees in their neighbourhood. Plus we'll have a scavenger hunt for the kids! Stop by our table anytime between two and four p.m. – St John’s Rd between Gilmore & Runneymede.
Sunday will be a busy day for us!

At 1:30 p.m., join us for Milne Hollow: A natural history walking tour. This walk through the quiet ravine of Milne Hollow will reveal the layers of industrialization and renaturalization that have shaped its landscape over the years. Discover how railways and expressways, flooding and invasive species have impacted the area throughout Toronto’s history and how recent stewardship efforts have helped preserve this important natural landscape. Meet at the picnic tables by the parking lot at the end of Old Lawrence Avenue.

Or, for a different tour, join us for a guided tour of the beautiful trees in Earl Bales Park as we celebrate the Adopt-A-Park-Tree Programs and the dedicated work of the Friends of Earl Bales Park. Find out how you can adopt and care for your very own park tree! Hear about the great work that local community groups are doing to improve the neighbourhood and find out how to get involved! LEAF’s Adopt-a-Park-Tree Program is supported by Trees for Life and Ontario Power Generation. 2:30 p.m. Meet at the entrance to the amphitheatre at Earl Bales Park Community Center.

We’ll also be at the David Suzuki Foundation’s Homegrown National Park Crawl. Back for a second year, the event combines food, drink and music to celebrate the amazing green spaces along Toronto's former Garrison Creek. The event starts at 10 a.m. in Christie Pits Park and travels along the Garrison Creek Corridor, ending in Trinity Bellwoods Park. Visit our table in Trinity Bellwoods from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. and try our tree hunt! Also, special guest David Suzuki himself will be speaking at 4 p.m.
Hope to see you out at one or more of these events!
