Dig into some family-friendly fun planting native trees and shrubs with LEAF at Willow Wharf. Help us improve the urban forest in Georgina. Make a day of it and visit Georgina Beaches and Waterfront Parks!
For this event, we’ve teamed up with the Town of Georgina as part of their EAB (Emerald Ash Borer) removal and replacement strategy to restore and strengthen Georgina’s tree canopy while increasing local biodiversity.
Children under 16 years of age must be accompanied by an adult.
Planting event will take place from 1:00 p.m. – 3:00 p.m.
Please wear:
- Closed-toed shoes or boots – no sandals, please!
- Gardening gloves, if you have them (we will have extras)
- Appropriate clothing – the event runs rain or shine
All LEAF events count toward secondary school volunteer hour requirements.
This event will involve walking on unpaved paths and uneven grassy surfaces. For accessibility questions, please contact Sarah Halonen, sarah[at]yourleaf.org
