Building Urban Forest Resilience in Oshawa One Tree at a Time

This fall, LEAF helped grow the urban forest in Durham Region by planting over 750 native trees and shrubs on public land. We partnered with the City of Oshawa to complete our first naturalization planting project in Oshawa’s Central Park. Schomberg Farm Growing More Than Produce!

On the morning of Saturday, September 15th community members from the King area joined LEAF, the Township of King and the Reginal Municipality of York for a public tree planting event! Even though it was a hot, balmy day, energy levels were high and everyone’s excitement could be seen as tree after tree went into the ground.
