First of all, to celebrate National Tree Day on September 23, we’ll be partnering with the Town of Ajax, Region of Durham, and Toronto and Region Conservation to offer an Urban Forest Workshop. Stay tuned for further details!
Starting September 29, we’ll be offering our Tree Tenders Volunteer Training Program in Ajax. If you’ve ever wanted to learn more about trees and how to properly care for them, this course for you! Gain knowledge and skills that you can put to use in your own yard and community. Our expert instructors deliver engaging indoor and outdoor sessions. We even plant a tree together! The program is eligible for International Society of Arboriculture (ISA) Continuing Education Units, and may also qualify for credit through other continuing education programs.
We’ve also been thrilled to attend many fun community events in Ajax this year to get the word out about our programs. So far, we’ve attended the Green Living Days Community Tree Planting Event on April 25, Trailfest on June 14, and the Waterfront Festival on June 21. It’s been great to talk to so many residents at these events who are interested in improving their urban forest. If you haven’t had the chance to meet us yes, stop by our table and say hello at the Taste Ajax Festival on August 15! It’s sure to be an exciting event.
For those of you interested in our Backyard Tree Planting Program, we’re now booking consultations for our fall planting season. If you’re an Ajax resident who is interested in getting a tree for your backyard, simply click here to find out more about the program, complete our questionnaire and we’ll give you a call to set up an appointment. One of our arborists will meet with you in your yard to assess site conditions and talk with you about what you’re looking for. We’ll then come back and plant for you, all for the low price of $150 to $220 per tree. We can also help you pick out native shrubs and garden kits to complete your yard!
