Red is a tree that is so full of love, it has heart-shaped leaves and delicate pink blooms in early spring. Aptly named, Red is an eastern redbud tree. Red loves the feel of the wind rustling through its leaves, the white blooms from the nearby meadowsweet shrubs, and its new home with William and Lorraine.

But Lorraine and William didn’t always love Red: “When we got the tree we thought it was the wrong one - there were no redbuds on it. We didn’t realize that we would have to wait until next spring to enjoy them. It was humbling, but we learned.”
Not only to Lorraine and William now love Red, but they also love Slim – a silver maple that moved in at the same time.
They had been looking for some time for the right tree to stand guard in the middle of their backyard and even tried a couple of trees, but the conditions weren’t right. What they needed was a real match-maker! So we helped them find the perfect tree, and Slim found his forever home.

“Slim will provide great shade, grow tall and is a national symbol. Also, for better or worse, I am a life-long fan of the Toronto Maple Leafs,” says William. “He also fits right in with the family. Both my son and Slim are tall, thin and stand true.”
