It’s a busy week for outreach this week! We’ve got four events in Toronto this weekend and an event in York Region during the week.

Vicki, our fantastic Residential Planting Programs Assistant, will be attending the City of Vaughan EAB Info Session to share information on the Emerald Ash Borer with residents. If you’re interested in learning more about the impacts of EAB on the region, or if you’d like to know what you can to do treat ash trees or replant, visit Vicki at the North Thornhill Community Center (activity room #A), 300 Pleasant Ridge Ave., from 7:00 p.m. on Thursday, June 20! In Newmarket we'll be at another Emerald Ash Borer Training Session on June 23, from 10:00 a.m. - 3:00 p.m. (register now!)

Of course, we’ll be at the Leslieville Tree Festival, on Saturday, June 22, from noon until 4:00 p.m. in Leslie Grove Park in Toronto. Our annual celebration of the urban forest includes fun performances, tasty local food, eco-friendly vendors, children’s activities, and even a bike clinic. In addition to hosting the event, we’ll be selling native shrubs and perennials and talking about LEAF’s programs! Come join us for the afternoon!

We’ll be ready to teach people about the emerald ash borer and promote our Backyard Tree Planting Program.
