After spending the last several months planning and organizing the event, it was wonderful to see over 500 people celebrating our urban forest together!
Afterthought, a youth band, kicked off the afternoon with some rockin’ tunes.
LEAF sold native perennials. Festival-goers were excited to purchase black-eyed Susan, common milkweed and great blue lobelia plants for their gardens.
Barkley posed for photos with Councillor Paula Fletcher and representatives from Toronto Hydro, supporters of the festival.
Barkley also hung out with some of the smaller folks at the festival.
Gentleman Joe entertained us with juggling.
The LEAF booth displayed several design pieces made from branches of the famous Maple Leaf Forever Tree.
As part of our urban wood utilization initiative, representatives from the Ontario Wood Carvers Association showed off their wares and taught people how to carve.
It was a fun afternoon and I’m already looking forward to next year!
