If you’ve been spending any time outside in the past couple days (which you should!), you may have noticed a little change in the air. The aroma of new blossoms means that spring has officially sprung, and the tree-lined streets are decorated with pink and white blossoms, adding some colour to the previously bare branches.
April’s photo of the month exemplifies a sign of good things to come; its bright colours offer a sign of new life. Janet’s font yard serviceberry tree is in full bloom and she couldn’t be more pleased! We’re sending this photo to Not Far From The Tree to add to their blossom watch. The team at NFFTT has put together a map of Toronto, and is adding photos of blossoms as they make their welcomed appearance throughout the city. Check out the site to find the locations of some trees in bloom!
We are very excited for the upcoming weeks, as the new buds wake up and more of the serviceberry trees in the urban forest really come to life. Have you seen any buds about to bloom? Keep an eye on them and snap a photo when they blossom!
