Families, people of all ages, local businesses, environmental exhibitors and many more gathered in Leslie Grove Park to celebrate our urban forest!
In the months approaching the Leslieville Tree Festival, LEAF’s Education and Outreach Coordinator, Tooba Shakeel, and I were busy coordinating with our partners, exhibitors, volunteers and the Leslieville community to prepare for the big day! So, when the rain held off and the sun was shining for the festival, we couldn’t be happier to share this very special day with the nearly 500 individuals who passed through the festival!
Here are some of my favourite memories from the festival:

Some of LEAF’s awesome staff and volunteers ready to set up for the big day!

Outstanding performances throughout the day by the Toronto All-Star Big Band

A major new attraction was the 24 foot high climbing wall sponsored by Streetcar.

Councillor Fletcher and a very tall Canadian Mountie!

Our event sponsor Toronto Hydro offered up great electricity saving-incentives!

Me and Tooba hanging out with Barkley!

Busy at work decorating pollinator-themed crafts!

LEAF’s Executive Director Janet McKay leading a tree tour around Leslie Grove Park!

LEAF’s first #BeesLoveTrees pop-up event!

A fantastic pollinator-themed craft made at EcoSpark’s craft station and beautiful face-painting by Masquerading Faces
A great big thank you to our event sponsors and partners! Thanks also to additional supporters Tango Palace, Ralph Thornton Centre, Canadian Tire and EcoSpark as well as all of the performers, exhibitors, and volunteers that helped make the day a great success!
