Last Wednesday, LEAF led a tree tour to celebrate the Adopt-a-Street Tree project on the Danforth. Community members, City representatives, and LEAF staff and volunteers came out to find out more about the Danforth trees, and how they can care for them. By the evening’s end, not only had everyone learned more about their neighbourhood trees, but several new adopters had also joined the project! We’re excited for the prospects of these trees, with such a caring community to look after them.

We’ve said it before, and we’ll say it again: we wouldn’t be where we are today, or be able to do all that we do, without our amazing volunteers and supporters! As LEAF celebrated its 20th birthday, we thought it would be a perfect opportunity to thank the many people who make LEAF great by hosting a summer party in our Learning Garden.

What is the first thing you notice when you look at a tree? For me, it’s their strong trunks that extend into branches, from which beautiful canopies emerge. Aside from admiring their beauty and receiving their benefits, I realized I didn’t really know much about trees.
